August 25, 2009 -- Para Systems, Inc. announced a marketing and sales agreement with General Electric's (GE) Power Quality division. Under the terms of the agreement, GE's LP-33U and SG series of premium quality three-phase uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) will be available to IT solution distributors currently selling Para Systems' Minuteman brand of power protection products.

The Minuteman product line currently includes single-phase UPSs ranging from 400VA up to 24kVA, along with a full line of surge protectors, power distribution units (PDUs), remote power managers (RPMs) and a full-featured power monitoring software product. With the addition of GE's line of three-phase products, Para Systems can now offer high-end three-phase solutions up to 750kVA.

"The Minuteman brand has a strong reputation in the telecom, security and information technologies markets and we see this relationship as a win-win for both companies," comments Patrick Gannon with GE's Power Quality division. "We are excited about the prospects of this alliance and see the value in offering a complete, turnkey three phase solution for their product portfolio."

The LP-33U and SG series Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) from GE Digital Energy's Power Quality business delivers reliable power protection, incorporating on-line double-conversion technology and proprietary Redundant Parallel Architecture (RPA). Available in 10-60 kVA, the LP-33U Series' "transformerless" design and compact footprint create less weight, better efficiency, easy front service access, and low audible noise, making it suitable for both office and industrial environments, according to the company.

In addition, the LP series has "green" ECO-Mode functionality, which the company says incorporates energy efficient technology resulting in 98% power efficiency. The SG series includes a similar feature set and is available in various sizes up to 750kVA.

"By aligning ourselves with General Electric, we are immediately able to offer much larger power protection solutions that many of our current customers are seeking," says Bill Allen, director of marketing for Para Systems. "We are able to tap into a strong global service and support team, along with a field-proven, highly reliable product line from one of the largest corporations with one of the most recognizable brands in the world."
