R&M showcased its new line of intelligent power distribution units (PDUs) for high-power servers in March at Data Centre World 2025 in London.
The new unit, dubbed ActiPower AI, was made to “safeguard the power supply of IT end devices in racks even more precisely”. ActiPower AI can be utilized in both critical IT infrastructures and sensitive data center environments like AI clusters and high-power computing.
With its built-in intelligence, the unit “analyzes all critical parameters in real-time, especially the harmonics and harmonic distortion of power and voltage”. This leads to the quick and pinpointed detection of inadequate power quality and dangerous electrical failures and fluctuations. Having this knowledge allows operators to react in ways to avoid critical loads, overheating, or IT equipment failure.
ActiPower AI has real-time accuracy of 1.0% for racks and is made to withstand temperatures of up to 60°C. It is equipped with an alarm function, power-efficient switching relays, hydraulic-magnetic circuit breakers, an OLED monitor, and cascadable multi-sensor ports. “R&M combines C13, C15, C19 and C21 sockets in a patented and standard-compliant IEX+ socket.” This makes it so ActiPower AI can support all common types of connection cable connectors for high-power applications.
