BICSI past president Jeff Beavers becomes NECA’s executive director of network integration and services
The National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) recently named Jeff Beavers its executive director, network integration and services. He began that position February 1. Beavers has more than 30 years’ experience in the information and communications technology (ICT) industry, in roles that have included lineman, installer, technician, and designer, as well as several management positions in construction and engineering. Beavers, who began his career in the United States Air Force as a cable splicer, served as president of BICSI from 2018 to 2020.
“Beavers is a recognized subject matter expert and a technical contributor to BICSI standards and reference manuals,” NECA said when announcing the hire. “He has experience in many types of projects, including the Department of Defense, municipal and federal government, K-12 and higher education, healthcare, sports and entertainment, data centers, and utilities including broadband, water, energy, wind, and solar.”
“Connectivity in a continuously advancing connected world demands a technically competent and agile workforce,” Beavers said. “I’m glad to be here and look forward to working with our team, members, and partners to lead the industry forward.”
“We are thrilled to be welcoming Jeff to NECA, and we believe he can have an impact helping our member contractors through many different facets of the low-voltage and integration industry,” said NECA chief executive officer David Long. “Jeff has a long and active career pushing ICT forward, and helping companies embrace change. These skills will be valuable to companies of all sizes in our membership, as we provide greater educational opportunities, expand our knowledge base, and position our members as the safest and most innovative firms in the industry.”
