Active and Passive Outdoor Cabinets for Fiber-Optic Connectivity Protection, Management

LYNN’s Rapid Fiber Deployment System includes plug-and-play connectivity, cable management, and climate control.

The recently introduced Rapid Fiber Deployment (RFD) System from LYNN comprises active and passive solution cabinets. The system is designed and manufactured in the United States. LYNN’s vice president of product development Charles Hoskins explained the RFD System “combines everything you need for quick and seamless fiber-optic installations. We combine plug-and-play connectivity with in-the-field cable management, climate control, and security power distribution, ensuring even the largest and most-complex systems deploy rapidly and operate reliably for years to come.”

A number of LYNN’s cable management and fiber-connectivity products can be preinstalled or bundled into the RFD cabinets for rapid field deployment, the company further explained—adding that its “NEMA 3 cabinet is ideal for weather-exposed outdoor and industrial indoor applications. Customizations include rack heigh, plinth height, and factory-installed cabling and connectivity.”

The NEMA 4 cabinet in the RFD portfolio (pictured) also is ideal for weather-exposed outdoor and industrial indoor applications. Customizations include enhanced access control, enhanced airflow and temperature management, as well as factory-installed cabling and connectivity.

Another option is the NEMA 3R wall-mount cabinet, which is suitable for weather-exposed outdoor and industrial indoor applications. It is designed for wall and pole mounting, with a bottom panel that has three, 2.5-inch conduit holes and a drain hole. Customizations for this NEMA 3R cabinet include enhanced airflow, temperature management, and factory-installed cabling and connectivity.

And the NEMA 4 wall-mount double-swing cabinet is ideal for weather-exposed outdoor and industrial indoor applications. It is designed for wall and pole mounting, with flexible cable management options. Customizations include rack height, cabinet depth, enhanced access control, enhanced airflow, temperature management, and factory-installed cabling and connectivity.

The company added that ruggedized planar lightwave circuit (PLC) fiber splitters are available in a number of configurations and designed for extreme temperatures. LYNN’s parent company, NSI, offers kitting and project-staging services. All LYNN cabinets can be factory-configured with LYNN and third-party components prior to shipping, which the company says provides “a streamlined deployment process that reduces freight and field labor.”

“The NSI team includes dedicated customer experience and solutions architects to ensure your design addresses current and future technology trends,” Hoskins added. “Whether your installation requires LYNN cabinets, cables, patch panels or other connectivity solutions, the NSI team will help with system engineering and design.”
