A web-delivered seminar hosted by Cabling Installation & Maintenance and presented live on Thursday, September 13 will provide practical information for anyone involved in a cabling-design and installation project, including end-user organizations, contractors and cabling consultants. Entitled "Cabling Project Planning - The Customer's Point of View," the seminar will be delivered by Jim Hayes, founder of The Fiber Optic Association as well as the training organization VDV Works.
In a page on its website describing the seminar, Cabling Installation & Maintenance said, "Cabling design and installation projects require a significant level of communication and cooperation between the contractor who carries out the installation and the end user who specifies and ultimately owns the installed plant. Too often, breakdowns in communication lead to breakdowns in the project and, ultimately, the cabling system.
"This webcast seminar ... will explain what is involved in a cabling-installation project (fiber, copper, and/or wireless), from concept to acceptance. It will describe the step-by-step procedures, referencing which responsibilities fall on the end user, which fall on the contractor, and the critical points of cooperation between the two."
Attendees who hold BICSI's RCDD, RITP, Installer, Technician or Certified Trainer designations can receive one continuing education credit (CEC) by attending the seminar in its entirety.
The seminar will be broadcast live at 1pm EDT on Thursday, September 13. After that date, it will be available for on-demand viewing for a period of six months.
