Harris Corp. wins $12M in IT infrastructure upgrade contracts from USAF

Harris will install core IT infrastructure upgrades through extensive cabling and networking components at four U.S. Air Force bases.

Harris Corporation (NYSE: HRS) was recently awarded four contracts worth a total of over $12 million by the U.S. Air Force's Electronic Systems Center through the Cyber Integration Division, Information Transport Systems Program Management Office.

Under the contracts, Harris will install core IT infrastructure upgrades by providing extensive cabling and networking components installation at the four U.S. Air Force bases. These bases include: Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana; Creech Air Force Base, Nevada; Randolph Air Force Base, Texas; and Vance Air Force Base, Oklahoma.

The Harris team includes subcontractor Trans-Tel Central, Inc. The projects were awarded under the Network-Centric Solutions (NETCENTS) contract vehicle. "Harris Corporation's selection was based on our cost-effective solution and strong past performance integrating active duty, reserve, and Air National Guard units into a single network infrastructure," commented John Heller, president, Harris IT Services.
