VoltServer recently launched an online education platform that offers general-education and technical courses covering fault managed power (FMP).
Of its general education offerings, VoltServer says, “Start here to learn about the evolution of FMP. These introductory courses provide a high-level overview of Digital Electricity’s unique capabilities and impact.”
Characterizing the certification-and-training courses, the company states, “This advanced section offers in-depth training that leads to official certification, boosting your skills and professional credentials. Familiarity with the fundamentals of conventional electrical circuits is recommended to make the most of this training.”
Within the General Education section are two courses: Intro to Fault Managed Power Systems and Fault Managed Power Systems in Intelligent Buildings. Each course includes multiple modules (the intro course includes 7 modules and the intelligent buildings course includes 16 modules). The intelligent-building course also includes several assessments learners will take as they make their way through the modules.
VoltServer summarizes the intro course by stating, “This general overview provides a deep dive into the historical context and industry transformation broght about by FMP systems, emphasizing safety and the revolutionary concept of Digital Electricity.”
The company summarizes the intelligent buildings course and its relevance by saying, “Today’s buildings are becoming more intelligent as they integrate technology and automation into their operations. Digital Electricity is critical to support the mission-critical systems that keep these intelligent buildings running. This course will bring participants up to speed on what intelligent buildings are, their increasing power and data demands, and why Digital Electricity systems—also known as Class 4 or fault managed power systems—are such a great fit for intelligent buildings. It also takes a close look at how Digital Electricity systems are different from conventional power distribution methods, how they work, and installation basics.”
As of mid-November, the Certification and Training section contains a single course: Fundamentals of Electricity, Safety, and Power Electronics. It comprises three modules, three assessments, and an exam.
“The electric power system is one of the most impressive engineering feats of the modern world,” VoltServer says in its description of the course. “It is an incredible machine we depend on daily, but most of us never think about how it works. In this course, you will learn about the basics of electricity, power transmission, and power distribution.”
Learners must establish a free account to access the courses. You can register and find more information about VoltServer’s education courses here.
