BICSI is accepting self-nominations for 4 Board of Director (BoD) positions and 2 Leadership Development Committee (LDC) positions through May 31. All eligible BICSI members can self-nominate for these posts.
Each at-large BoD member and at-large LDC member will serve a 2-year term from January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2027.
The LDC facilitates the annual nominations process and presents slates of candidates for eligible Board Officer, Board Director, and LDC elections each year.
BICSI has published extensive descriptions of each position. You can read the BoD member description here and the LDC member description here.
“This is an opportunity to utilize your leadership skills and expert knowledge to strengthen BICSI globally and make a significant impact in the ICT profession,” BICSI said when announcing the opening of the self-nomination process.
BICSI also has published FAQs about these positions. Within those FAQs, BICSI explains, “No more than 2 elected officials from the same company, organization, or entity may serve on the Board of Directors or Leadership Development Committee simultaneously. This assumes that any candidate appearing on a slate has the potential to win. Therefore, the number of existing Board or Committee members plus slated candidates from a single company, organization, or entity is limited to a total of no more than 2. If at any time the number of applications received exceeds the limit, the LDC at its discretion will determine which candidates to slate.”
On the topic of attending BICSI events, the FAQs explain, “Board and LDC members are expected to attend, come prepared for, and actively engage in deliberations and discussions at their respective meetings, whether in person or virtually. The Board may conduct up to 3 in-person meetings per year, typically meeting during the pre-conference days of the Winter and Fall Conferences, and for up to 2 days in November for strategic planning. Additionally, there are usually 2 to 3 Board virtual meetings throughout the year.
“The LDC may conduct at least 1 in-person meeting each year, typically meeting during the pre-conference days of the Winter Conference to attend LDC orientation and training. The LDC may also conduct up to 8 virtual meetings throughout the year lasting 90 to 12 minutes, to accomplish the nominations activities needed to facilitate Board Officer, At-Large Board Director, and LDC At-Large Member elections.”
