In the cabling world, truth is often more humorous than fiction.

Every now and then you`ll hear a television network promote its movie of the week as "a true story" or "based on actual events." What you are about to read is a little of both. Some are true stories that were told to us by cable installers and cable-plant managers. Others are more like folklore; they have been told to us and assuredly happened to somebody, somewhere, sometime, but we haven`t been able to specify exactly to whom, where, and when. Regardless, we don`t reference any names here, to protect both the innocent and the guilty.
