Q: I am a certified technician and bicsi member, and I am interested in becoming a registered communications distribution designer (rcdd). Having neither the time nor the money to attend the classes that bicsi recommends, I will be studying at home. But what should I study?

A: The bicsi tdmm is the document you should use to study for the rcdd exam. More than 90% of the exam questions are pulled directly from this manual. The seventh edition will serve as the basis for the exam through April 1998. Then the exam will be revised to follow the eighth edition, which was published in early January 1998. Another good resource is the National Electrical Code, 1996 Edition. Good luck!
