Graybar has announced that for the third consecutive year it has been named to CMP Media LLC's InformationWeek 500, a prestigious listing of innovative users of information technology in the United States.
The InformationWeek 500 tracks organizations' IT agendas, providing an opportunity to understand and examine their business practices across core areas of technology operations. Companies named to this list demonstrate a pattern of technological and organizational innovation. This is the 17th year for the listing, which was published in the Sept. 19 issue of InformationWeek.
The most recent recognition from InformationWeek resulted from Graybar's continued emphasis on technology as a critical process enabler in the distribution industry. Graybar completed the rollout of its $100 million Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation in late 2004. With this technology platform in place, the company is now focused on using ERP to optimize its business processes. This ongoing effort is designed to deliver value to its customers, suppliers, users and shareholders well into the future.
"Our emphasis on technology is focused on delivering superior customer service while driving down our transaction cost," says Graybar President Robert Reynolds, Jr. "We believe that providing industry leading tools to our dedicated workforce will continue to enhance our ability to be the partner of choice for our customers and suppliers."
