FCI subsidiary buys cable-jointing business

March 1, 2002--Created in 1989, FCI is a worldwide supplier of electronic and electrical interconnect systems.

FCI's subsidiary, FCI Electrique (www.fciconnect.com), has purchased the cable jointing business of SCAPA France.

SCAPA France was previously both a kit supplier and a supplier of components to manufacturers. The complete kits will now be available from FCI Electrique at the Evreux plant in France. FCI Electrique France is relocating the SCAPA kit operation to its plant in Evreux in Northern France.

FCI was created in 1989 and is now a member of the Areva group, which also consists of Cogema, Framatome-ANP and 11% interest in ST Microelectronics. FCI is a worldwide supplier of electronic and electrical interconnect systems.
