Collins joins BICSI as master instructor

June 18, 2002-The 26-year industry veteran will instruct design and installation courses, and develop new ones as well.

Michael Collins of Houston, TX has joined the staff of BICSI (www.bicsi.org) as a master instructor. Collins has earned BICSI's Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD), Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA), and NARTE Certified Engineer (NCE) designations.

Most recently, Collins was president and principal consultant of Global Connect Consulting, focusing on design consulting and project management. Previously, he worked for Sorrento Networks, a manufacturer of wavelength-division-multiplexing equipment, and for Southwestern Bell Corp.

In his role as master instructor, Collins will instruct BICSI's telecommunications design and installation curriculum and provide technical content for new course development. BICSI says it plans to introduce five new courses next year. Currently BICSI offers 30 courses.
