Nov. 25, 2003 - Company is recognized for its Enterprise Resource Planning system.

Graybar has been awarded a 2003 InfoWorld 100 award.

The award, presented annually by InfoWorld Magazine to honor IT excellence, was given to Graybar in recognition of outstanding technology leadership for its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

As a recipient of the award, Graybar's ERP system was selected from a field of 160 entrants as "an outstanding example of enterprise innovation and IT leadership" by a panel of the magazine's editors. Graybar, which provides related supply chain management and logistics services, first went live with the $90 million ERP program earlier this year.

"This honor for our ERP system further illustrates Graybar's unique ability to work to its customers' advantage by providing efficient, cost-effective service and solutions that go beyond just delivering products," says Graybar Chairman Robert Reynolds. "Our deployment of ERP is just one example of how Graybar's technological leadership is raising the bar on performance for our customers and suppliers."

Graybar's launch of the ERP program with IBM, SAP and Deloitte Consulting is designed to help employees better manage inventory, orders and collections while improving efficiency throughout the supply chain. The new ERP system, when fully deployed, will link Graybar's network of 250 branch, zone and district facilities in the United States.

In addition, Graybar has recently initiated a number of other programs that reflect an increased focus on offering supply chain logistics and service solutions for its customers. These include:

* Expanding its product portfolio in the areas of security and industrial automation,
* Developing a third-party verification program, called VIP (Verified Independently for Performance),
* Implementing a frequent buyers program called "epoint" to reward electrical and comm./data customers/ loyalty; and,
* Increasing its nearly $500 million in inventory nationwide by 10%.
