May 30, 2001 Outside plant equipment manufacturer Ditch Witch (www.ditchwitch.com) says it will soon open European headquarters in Cataluna, Spain (near Barcelona).
Business development manager Dean Martens says the European-staffed headquarters will include facilities to conduct equipment seminars; for equipment operation, maintenance and technical training; and for product demonstrations.
The Perry, OK-based company markets and supports specialized equipment used for underground utility installation, manufactured by The Charles Machine Works Inc. The Ditch Witch product line includes trenchers, vibratory plows, and horizontal directional drilling systems. Directional drilling, which limits the amount of required excavation and minimizes surface damage, is conducted extensively throughout Europe.
Further extending its reach on the European continent, Ditch Witch of France is the new dealership which has resulted from an acquisition of Bureau Commercial Marketing S.A. (BCM) by International Construction Holding (ICH) of Denmark.
Ditch Witch of France will continue to operate from BCM's Coignieres, France location, and will retain BCM management, sales, and service personnel. The company considers France a key customer of its horizontal drilling products, with dealership presence in the country for nearly 30 years.
