January 30, 2008 -- Weintraub Telecomm, LLC (WeiTel) announced that it has signed a letter of intent to acquire the business of Jensen Communications Corp. (JCC – Phoenix, AZ). JCC provides CATV design, drafting and mapping services for major North American cable companies and selected commercial customers.
The transaction, projected to close in the first quarter of 2008, is subject to the completion of a definitive purchase agreement between the companies.
WeiTel notes that JCC's services assist customers in the build, rebuild and upgrade documentation of their outside physical plant, which is required to support current and planned technology changes and maintenance. In addition, JCC provides services to cable companies that assist in the identification and penetration of the commercial services market. This is a high growth market driven by the cable industry's emerging strategy of offering voice, video and data capabilities to commercial customers, contends WeiTel.
WeiTel's president and CEO Bruce A. Weintraub, comments, "JCC's success and capabilities fit well with our growth strategy. Merging the JCC operations with WeiTel is a perfect fit, strengthening our strategy of offering a portfolio of high value engineering services to the telecommunications industry. In addition, the transaction enhances our market presence in the western United States. Together, we will be able to provide solutions to many of the commercial serviceability and MDU issues and opportunities facing telecommunications operators today. We are delighted about the prospects of having Doug Jensen and the JCC team joining the WeiTel organization. "
Doug Jensen, president of JCC, adds, "Combining our organization with WeiTel provides a strong platform to accelerate our company's growth and provide additional services to our customer base. The WeiTel organization's commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, and its employees is a solid match with JCC's business philosophy, culture and values."
