April 18, 2008 -- Greenlee has added the ETS12 to its family of battery-powered cutting tools. The small, lightweight tool can be used for cutting a wide variety of mild steel products such as bolts, threaded rod, solid hasp and cable hasp one-time locks, shipping container seals, and other items.
According to the company, the ETS12 takes about 4 to 5 seconds per cut. When a cut is complete the ram automatically retracts to be ready for the next cut with no need to push another trigger. The tool will make about 100 cuts per battery charge, and comes with two batteries so the end-user can be charging the second one while still using the tool. A battery charger and molded carrying case is included.
The 14-3/8 inches-long ETS12 is lighter than manual bolt cutters, says Greenlee, making it easier to position for a cut than a manual cutter. The cutting head rotates 350 degrees. The compact tool fits into tighter spaces than most manual cutters will allow, contends the company.
