April 7, 2008 -- JVC has expanded its IP-network camera line with the introduction of the VN-V26U, a day/night camera featuring bi-directional audio with 30 fps MJPEG and 30 fps MPEG-4 video streams, designed to preserve image quality while optimizing bandwidth.
According to JVC, the core technology driving the VN-V26U IP camera is a ¼-inch progressive scan CCD imager, which delivers sharp and clear color images without flicker and without interlace smear caused by even the slightest movement. The VN-V26U's built-in mic and speaker jack make it suitable for use in facilities where two-way audio, properly synchronized with video, provides additional interactive capability, as well as comprehensive audio/visual information for forensic purposes.
"JVC's significant experience in audio/visual products was brought to bear in the integration of high quality audio with video surveillance in the VN-V26U," comments Geoff Anderson, national marketing manager, security products, at JVC Professional Products Company. "Bi-directional audio combined with full frame dual stream performance are critical to providing the proper security environment for interaction and forensic evaluation."
The VN-V26U also features an IR cut filter for day/night functionality and an "Easy Wide-D" feature to provide higher sensitivity for monitoring and back light compensation in harsh lighting conditions. Four gamma settings allow for user customization of display type such as LCD1, LCD2 and CRT for optimum image, no matter what the display. The VN-V26U also supports industry standard Power over Ethernet (PoE) capapbility..
List price for the VN-V26U is $799.
