May 27, 2008 -- Custom motorcycle manufacturer Orange County Choppers (OCC) has deployed an end-to-end network infrastructure platform from Panduit to support retail, manufacturing, and operations at the OCC's new headquarters in Newburgh, NY.
OCC's rapid growth created the need to merge existing facilities into a new 92,000 square-foot world headquarters, which was revealed in a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 24, 2008. OCC says it chose the Panduit platform for its because of its superior quality and performance characteristics.
For the headquarters' data center, deployed Panduit products include those for copper and fiber cabling and connectivity, as well as rack, cable management, and grounding and bonding components to support voice and data communications, video, and a high-end speaker system throughout the facility. For the facility's manufacturing area, Panduit's IndustrialNet connectors were deployed. These IP67 rated RJ45 connectors exceed ODVA and TIA standards to protect critical control data from dust, vibrations, and other elements of harsh manufacturing environments.
By integrating all systems from computing and communications to point-of-sale and manufacturing control onto one high-performance structured cabling infrastructure, OCC says it can increase productivity, efficiency, and security to achieve lower cost of ownership. The new facility will also meet the U.S. Green Building Council's guidelines for achieving LEED [leadership in energy and environmental design] certification.
