Leviton Network Solutions' newest addition to the Opt-X product line is a set of fiber-optic adapter plates in SC, LC and ST styles. The plates are compatible with all enclosures and panels in the Opt-X line, and they feature push-lock pins for tool-free installation.
Among the plates' features are fully integrated couplings that eliminate loose-fitting adapters, which Leviton points out is a common problem among many metal adapter plates. These Opt-X plates use precision-molded material that "adds strength and allows the plates to be color-coded to represent fiber types as recommended in the TIA-568-C.3 standard," Leviton notes. All multimode and singlemode adapter plates in the series use zirconia ceramic sleeves, and all have been third-party verified to meet mechanical, environmental and performance requirements of TIA-568-C.3 and TIA-604-2B/3B/10B.
Tony Yuen, senior product manager of fiber-optic systems at Leviton, said, "Our new Opt-X adapter plates underwent rigorous internal and third-party testing and met or exceeded all applicable industry standards. These next-generation adapter plates join the high-performance line of Opt-X fiber-optic solutions, including enclosures and panels. They are engineered to increase density, add flexibility, and simplify installations in data centers and telecommunications rooms."
Along with other fiber enclosures and accessories from Leviton, these adapter plates are available through Leviton's distribution network.
