Mayville Products Corp. has formally announced its purchase of APW Ltd.'s North American enclosure solutions product line and related contract manufacturing business.
Officially purchased on October 28, 2005, the combined company and brand will continue under the name APWMayville, encompassing a range of rack enclosure and power management platforms for the data communications industry. As part of the purchase, APWMayville also acquired the PFT-Datacom brand name for its data communications product range.
"While the name has changed, our location, facilities, and equipment remain intact. The only real change is that the business has dedicated, local, and active ownership for the first time in many years," comments Daniel Eder, President of APWMayville. "The APWMayville facility has a long tradition of high-quality manufacturing and product innovation, and these are the cornerstones of the company's excellent 58-year reputation. We look forward to building on this reputation for the benefit of our customers, vendors, and employees."
The company plans to display its range of Pioneer rack enclosure cabinets at next month's BISCI 2006. According to the company, at 24-inches wide, the typical Pioneer cabinet is ideal for use in data center applications heavy on servers and other IT equipment, offering several rail style and shelving options for flexibility in different installations. The company says the cabinets also promote growth and expandability in multi-bay applications, where multiple cabinets are mounted together to create a consistent cable-tied appearance.
At BICSI, the company will also offer its Quicksilver line of 27-inch cables for enabling cleaner data center connections, particularly in multi-bay installations.
Based in Mayville, Wisconsin, APWMayville provides a range of standard and configurable cabinets, enclosures, frames, racks, and mounting products. The company's enclosure solutions product line is sold throughout North America for use in data communications, telecommunications, audio-visual, broadcast, and security applications.
