October 30, 2006 -- Leviton's Shielded Connectivity Solution has been approved through Rockwell Automation's Encompass Partner Program.

October 30, 2006 -- Leviton announced that its Shielded Connectivity Solution has been approved through Rockwell Automation's Encompass Partner Program.

The third-party product referencing program recognizes regional best-in-industry suppliers. Rockwell says that all products referenced within the program must be compatible with, or complementary to, the Rockwell Automation architecture, and be provided by companies committed to product and service quality.

Leviton's shielded connectivity platform includes a 1RU/24-port patch panel, as well as Cat 5e and Cat 6 shielded connectors and patch cords. Shielded connectivity protects critical data from external noise such as electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency (RFI) interference.

Hallmarks of the platform, according to Leviton, include a durable connector housing that simplifies the shielded termination process and eliminates the need for a 110 punch down tool, and a cable management bar located on the panel for added cable support and strain relief. Applications include government, Department of Defense, health care, manufacturing and other industrialized environments.
