Jan. 8, 2004
Jan. 8, 2004 - TIA-968-A-1 changes the allowable analog signal power limitations established in the original standard.
The Telecommunications Industry Association has published an addendum to its standard Telecommunications -- Telephone Terminal Equipment -- Technical Requirements for Connection of Terminal Equipment to the Telephone Network, TIA-968-A.
TIA-968-A-1 changes the allowable analog signal power limitations established in the original standard. The document also clarifies the status of grandfathered non-approved terminal equipment and addresses several editorial references.
TIA-968-A-1 was written by Working Group TR-41.9 of TIA Technical Committee TR-41 for submission to the Administrative Council on Terminal Attachments. The council was formed by the Federal Communications Commission in 2000 to privatize the administration of the FCC's role in regulating Part 68, Section 47, of the Code of Federal Regulations. Part 68 governs the technical criteria and registration of terminal devices to be connected to the public switched telephone network.
The TIA is based in Arlington, VA. For more information visit www.tiaonline.org.
