July 27, 2004 - Systems from RiT Technologies will be in place at athletic stadiums, link train station and airport to Olympic City.
Intelligent structured cabling systems will be deployed in several spots in Athens, Greece to support the 2004 Summer Olympics next month. RiT Technologies' (www.rittech.com) systems will be installed in the athletic stadium and track-cycling stadium, as well as facilities including the train station control center within the local airport, the company said.
RiT will provide Category 6 components for the stadium as well as smaller sites, for use mainly by press and media personnel. Additionally, the headquarters linking the train line and airport to the Olympic City will connect via the company's structured cabling.
"Any network relies on the quality of its infrastructure for smoother operation, and the Olympic Games are no exception," commented Liam Galin, RiT's CEO. "We are very pleased to be able to play a part in such an auspicious event. RiT Technologies is proud to provide the Games with such a vital element."
