May 4, 2004 - The appointee has a Master's in not-for-profit management and experience as executive director of the American Agricultural Economics Association.

BICSI (www.bicsi.org) announced the appointment of Donna French Dunn as the organization's new executive director. Dunn will officially begin her role on June 1.

Dunn succeeds Mel Lesperance, who has served as BICSI's interim executive director since August 2003.

She has been the executive director of the American Agricultural Economics Association (AAEA) since August 1998. The AAEA is an international organization for economics professionals. As that group's executive director, she has been responsible for all association functions, including providing management and administrative support for the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists; the American Council on Consumer Interests; and the Council on Food, Agriculture, and Resource Economics.

Prior to working for the AAEA, Dunn was director of membership and communications with the U.S. Grains Council, and also worked for the National Milk Producers Federation.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in plant science, a Master of Science degree in agricultural economics, and a Master of Science degree in not-for-profit management.

"I'm very excited to be the new executive director at BICSI," Dunn says. "This association is well-positioned to lead and support the industry."

"BICSI is undergoing a great many changes to better serve our membership and enhance BICSI's role as a world leader in the telecommunications industry," says Russ Oliver, RCDD/LAN Specialist, BICSI president. "To guide us in this direction, it was important to find an individual with exceptional leadership skills. I believe we've found this and much more, and we are very pleased to have her join our organization."
