Mel Nowlin, RCDD

Regional Technical Manager

Mel Nowlin, RCDD, is a Regional Technical Manager for America Ilsintech. Having been in the business for over 30 years, Mel has worked in many different stages of the structured cabling industry. From Project Management roles for some of California’s largest datacom contractors to sales and engineering positions for several leading structured cabling manufacturers, Mel’s background has given him the opportunity to understand network design from every angle. In 2005, he opened his own independent network consulting firm and focused specifically on the K-12 environment. Through this endeavor, Mel served as a chief consultant to one of the nation’s largest school districts and has continued this service as an Advanced Certified Faculty at the University of Phoenix for the past thirteen years.

In 2016, Mel joined the America Ilsintech team. Today he provides consulting and design engineering of complex data network systems for America Ilsintech contractors, engineers, and end-users. Mel serves as the go-to customer resource for technical specification writing, scope of work statements, and logical network diagrams including cabling, pathways, IP convergence, and fire alarm interface – just to name a few. Mel holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, and a Master of Arts in Organizational Management. He holds a current RCDD accreditation and actively participates in standards discussions.
