Summary

New and planned networks are supporting greater demand and allowing for capacity to support advancing and expanding requirements of machine learning and AI features. A such fiber demand is once again growing at an exponential rate. With this growth of fiber requirements it is important to review the types of cables that will be needed, advancements in cable management through the physical layer including through distribution and to final termination. This presentation will have provide valuable insight into what is available and what to look for from end-to-end of these new and planned network builds.

Joshua 
Seawell | Director of Product Management 

With over 20 years of industry experience, Joshua Seawell oversees the continued product development and distribution of Sumitomo’s broad portfolio of optical fiber and connectivity solutions for North America and the CALA regions. Meeting the needs of the customer through the continuous innovation of new and better solutions, Joshua was instrumental in launching the industry’s first MPO splice-on-connector.




Loren
Rapp | Product Manager 

Loren Rapp is the Product Manager of Sumitomo Electric Lightwave’s fiber optic cabling solutions line. She joined the company seven years ago in the Customer Service organization. Loren was instrumental in launching Sumitomo Electric Lightwave’s high fiber count solution including its industry-leading high fiber count cable portfolio.





Yuko Agano | Product Manager 


Born and raised in Japan, moved to the United States when she was 19 years old to receive a higher education. Upon completion of the higher education, she returned to Japan and worked as a U.S. government contractor and Japanese government employee at a U.S. military installation in Japan for over five years. 

Yuko returned to U.S. in 2014 to work for Sumitomo subsidiary, Innovation Core SEI in Silicon Valley to research into next generation technologies. In 2018, Yuko relocated to North Carolina and joined SEL in her current role.
