Altronix, a specialist in power and data transmission products for the professional security industry, has introduced its Tango1B, PoE Driven Power Supply/Charger with Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery Backup product.
Announced at at ISC East 2019 last November, the Tango1B was awarded "Best in Show" new product honors, as voted by attendees to this month's BICSI 2020 Winter Conference & Exhibition (Feb. 9-13) in Tampa, FL.
Billed as a "game-changing power solution [that] significantly reduces the overall costs to deploy access control and security devices by eliminating the need for a licensed electrician," the new 12VDC or 24VDC Tango1B devices can be powered simultaneously via the units' 802.3bt PoE input.
The Tango1B is powered by any 802.3bt 4PPoE power source (such as the Altronix NetWay BT Series Midspan/Injectors line), harnessing the new IEEE standard to deliver 12VDC and 24VDC simultaneously.
With 72W available, "the flexibility to power an entire access control system with 4PPoE is a reality," contends the company. This includes powering the access control panels, locks, readers and ancillary devices, while providing a battery charging circuit with a single Cat 5e or higher category cable.
Backed by a lifetime warranty, the Altronix Tango1B is manufactured in the US and is uniquely designed to be stacked with compatible Altronix access power controllers and distribution boards, utilizing a single footprint.
“Our new Tango series further capitalizes on the inherent benefits of utilizing PoE to efficiently power access control and further reduce the overhead associated with conventional access control deployment,” contends Alan Forman, president, Altronix Corporation. “With Tango, a technician can have an access or security system cost-effectively powered in seconds flat.”
