The K-1900-812L-IP VoIP SIP panel phone from Viking Electronics (Hudson, WI) comes equipped with a vandal-resistant 12-inch armored handset cable to reduce the risk of users harming themselves or their surroundings.

The armored handset cable is reinforced with an internal steel lanyard to withstand abuse from users pulling and tugging on the handset. Other key features include a vandal resistant keypad and durable steel faceplate.

The K-1900-812L-IP is PoE-powered and compatible with a wide array of VoIP SIP phone systems. Each K-1900-812L-IP phone can be used as a manual dial VoIP SIP phone, a hot-line phone that dials a single phone number when the handset is lifted, or users can store up to 250 speed dial numbers accessed from the phone’s keypad.

Two onboard relays can be programmed to activate when the phone is in use or a correct touch tone code is entered, triggering security cameras, lighting, or any other device activated by a contact trigger. Viking’s Enhanced Weather Protection option is available for added protection against environmental factors.

“The shortened, reinforced armored cable increases safety for users and helps to discourage potential vandalism,” observes Viking Electronics engineer James Catt.
