Leviton OneReach PoE extender system lauded for govt security, network support
For its OneReach PoE extender system's ability to support remote devices with power and data at distances well beyond traditional limitations, Leviton on July 13 announced it was awarded a 'Govies Government Security Award' by a judging panel from Security Today magazine.
The annual awards honor outstanding government security products. Leviton was awarded platinum honors in the awards program's "Network Support Solutions" category.
By combining fiber cable for long-distance data transmission and copper conductors for Power over Ethernet (PoE) delivery in a single composite cable, the OneReach solution is billed an ideal means of supporting security systems in parking lots, parking garages, and other remote locations to support cameras, emergency phones, and wireless access points.
For the award, an independent panel of judges from the security industry selected OneReach and the other top entries in the 2022 categories using criteria including:
- Features
- Innovation
- User Friendliness
- Interoperability
- Quality
- Design
- Market Opportunity
- Impact in the Security Industry
- Technical Advances
- Scalability
