ACS Solutions acquires Gepco from General Cable

Gepco, a provider of cabling and assembly products for AV, studio, stage and broadcast applications, was acquired by General Cable in 2009.

ACS Solutions has reached a deal to acquire the Gepco Brand high-end cabling solutions business from General Cable. When announcing the deal, General Cable described Gepco as “one of the most well-known and respected brands in the professional broadcast industry with an outstanding reputation for unsurpassed quality and performance.” The Gepco product line includes a gamut of professional broadcast, entertainment and AV cable, standard and custom cable assemblies, interconnect and cable-related accessories, and optical-fiber solutions.

Davie Fox, president and chief executive officer of ACS Solutions Inc., commented, “We are very excited to have the opportunity to acquire the Gepco Brand. Gepco products and custom solutions fit seamlessly with our portfolio of products and services, and will significantly enhance our company’s plan for exponential growth.”

John Weiler, vice president and general manager of North America Communications Products for General Cable, said the company “is pleased to know that the Gepco Brand name will continue to live on in the broadcast market under ACS’s leadership. We recognized that an acquisition of this business by a manufacturer like ACS, who is focused on this market, could maximize the brand’s value.”
