Anixter announced the opening of its new headquarters annex in Glenview, Illinois, at a ribbon cutting event on May 6th, marking 10 years in that location.

The new annex will house several global operations teams and create a single campus for the distributor's corporate headquarters. The 62,000-square-foot facility brings together 200 employees from various offices in the area into one centralized location. Reinforcing Anixter’s commitment to sustainability, the new annex will be LEED-certified and use energy-efficient features.

Some of the green initiatives by Anixter in the annex include: intelligent lighting that automatically adjusts to workplace demand; HVAC systems that use building automation to improve energy efficiency; carpet made from recycled material; and paint that is free from volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

With more than 8,300 employees worldwide, Anixter ranks as one of the top global distributors of electrical and electronic wire and cable, communications and security products, and fasteners. Through the new annex, the distributor says it will create a corporate campus with nearly 1,000 employees supporting global operations from a centralized location.

“Our new facility will support our continued growth plans while offering more convenience for our employees, partners and customers,” commented Bill Standish, executive vice president of operations at Anixter. “The new facility helps to improve operational efficiency by bringing together employees to one centralized corporate campus.”
