March 25, 2009 -- Beginning in April, Anixter will launch its 2009 seminar series, focusing on data center administration. Specifically, presenters and panelists from organizations including IBM, the Telecommunications Industry Association, and members of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers will discuss solving the puzzle of enhanced performance, improved security, and lower costs. In the spirit of lowering costs, the seminar is free to all attendees.

Those who have attended half- or full-day seminars in hotel conference and ballrooms may find it a refreshing change of pace to hear that Anixter will host its seminars at movie theaters. In announcing the series, Anixter stated, "With a new and dynamic movie format, Anixter's 2009 Seminar Series will include a video presentation followed by an interactive, live discussion with a panel of experts including representatives of IBM, the IEEE, Security Technology Executive magazine, and the TIA."

Additionally, the seminars will include networking opportunities, refreshments, and a mini trade show with some of Anixter's manufacturer partners available to discuss data-center optimization strategies. Afterward, attendees are welcome to view a current feature-length movie.

The seminar will visit the following cities: Orange, CA (April 9); Union City, CA (April 16); Atlanta, GA (April 23); Phoenix, AZ (April 30); New York City (May 14); Raleigh, NC (May 21); Orlando, FL (June 4); Houston, TX (June 11); Chicago (June 18); Boston, MA (June 25).
