Background on the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year award

Ernst & Young, EY, developed the Entrepreneur Of The Year award to recognize entrepreneurs “who dare to reimagine what’s possible and develop products and solutions that disrupt markets, revolutionize industries and transform lives”. It has taken place for 37 years and is recognized worldwide as one of the most respected business award programs.

The selection process and Clearfield’s CEO

Ernst & Young LLP announced Cheri Beranek, president and CEO of Clearfield, Inc., as an Entrepreneur Of The Year 2023 National Award winner. Winners were chosen from a pool of 224 regional Entrepreneur Of the Year 2023 Award winners from 197 companies around the United States. Winners were selected by independent judges consisting of entrepreneurs and business leaders across the United States. The selection process involves evaluating candidates “based on their demonstration of building long-term value through entrepreneurial spirit, purpose, growth and impact, among other core contributions and attributes.”

Beranek won the award through her leadership while utilizing an “insightful management style” to work through supply chain challenges.
