TIA TR-60 Committee elects leadership

March 12, 2020
The TIA standards-development committee diving into ICT lifecycle management has chosen Jerry Bowman, Gregory Bramham, and Christy Miller to lead the group.
The Telecommunications Industry Association’s (TIA) TR-60 ICT Lifecycle Management Committee, which was launched in May 2019 and is working to develop standards for information and communications technology (ICT) systems, infrastructure and services, recently elected its leadership for the 2020 calendar year.

At its first meeting of 2020, TR-60 elected Jerry Bowman (Square Mile Systems Inc.) as chair; Gregory Bramham (Global Com Inc.) as vice chair; and Christy Miller (BCL IT Consulting) as secretary.

TR-60 is a game-changer for the ICT industry,” Bowman said. “We’ve spent decades developing world-class manufacturing and installation standards and now it’s time to focus on management. TR-60 is taking the next step that defines the management requirements for technology to complement the engineering standards that have been in place for years. TR-60 is the rest of the technology story. It permits us to plan the end just as we planned the beginning.”

“TIA understands that industry standards are the foundation to building a trusted environment for global networks,” commented TIA chief executive officer Dave Stehlin. “We’re proud to see TIA’s committees lead the way in developing standards that will help our members and the industry achieve critical business objectives. The work being planned for TR-60 will be groundbreaking and we thank the new leadership team for their willingness to step forward.”

TR-60 is responsible for the development and maintenance of voluntary standards that address the management of technology for qualifying vertical markets, focusing on planning, documentation, design, remediation and operations of ICT systems, infrastructure and services.

Individuals interested in participating in any TIA engineering committee can begin the process by submitting a TIA Engineering Committee Application. For more information, email Cheryl Thibideau, [email protected].
