The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, on Jan. 12 announced the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) elected TIA CEO David Stehlin to join its 2021 board of directors as a director-at-large.
As coordinator of the U.S. voluntary consensus standardization system, ANSI is a private non-profit organization whose mission is to enhance both the global competitiveness of U.S. businesses and the U.S. quality of life by promoting and facilitating voluntary consensus standards and conformity assessment systems and safeguarding their integrity. ANSI represents the diverse interests of more than 270,000 companies and organizations, and 30 million professionals worldwide.
The ANSI board of directors is responsible for the management and control of the activities, property, and affairs of ANSI, including the strategic direction of the Institute, the annual budget, and the scope of responsibilities of the board and institute committees, councils, and boards.
“ANSI has been promoting and facilitating voluntary consensus standards, like those produced by TIA members, for over a century and serves as a strong voice on behalf of the U.S. voluntary standards community,” commented TIA's Stehlin. “I’m honored to be elected to the organization’s board and look forward to helping advance critical ICT standards, domestically and globally.”
Stehlin’s term began in January 2021 and runs through 2023. Learn more at https://tiaonline.org/.
