The Continental Automated Buildings Association (CABA) board of directors recently announced the appointment of Pete Horton, vice president, market development at Legrand, North and Central America's Electrical Wiring Systems (EWS) division, to its ranks.

"After 20 years of participating in and consuming CABA research, I am excited to be working with the organization and its board members to deliver cutting-edge research on the built environment,” said Legrand's Horton, regarding his new role with CABA, in a press release dated March 3.

Horton is currently responsible for driving IoT innovation within the EWS Division at Legrand. Previously, he served as vice president of the WattStopper business unit within Legrand's Building Controls Systems division. Prior to that, he was the Lighting Control Marketing Manager for Legrand in Europe.

In 1985, he cofounded Horton Controls Inc., a software technology provider acquired by Legrand in 2000. Horton currently serves on the board of directors of the Haystack Organization and is the Legrand board alternate with the Zigbee Alliance.

"Pete Horton is an industry veteran who has made significant contributions to the growth and innovation within the 'intelligent buildings and connected home' business over many years," commented Ron Zimmer, president and CEO of CABA. "He brings a deep understanding of the marketplace, in addition to being conversant on the engineering and technical side of IoT and the built sector. I know that CABA and our board will benefit a great deal from his insights."
