The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) in on Feb. 23 announced its slate of 2023 officers and new members of its board of directors.
The first official meeting of the new board is scheduled for this month.
CommScope’s vice president of global strategy and business development, Trevor Smith was elected to serve as the TIA board’s chair.
Smith commented:
“I am honored to serve as TIA’s board chair and I look forward to working with the board and TIA staff to continue growing the organization and developing industry standards that make a positive impact. This is an exciting time for our industry and TIA is taking a leadership role in areas such as cyber and supply chain security, technical standards and advocating for extending the reach of broadband.”
Also elected to serve as TIA board officers are: Avion Networks CEO Kanchana Raman as the board’s vice chair; and John Greene, CEO and general manager of New Lisbon Telephone Company, as treasurer.
Outgoing board chair Doug Moore, head of Americas region and president and CEO of Fujitsu North America, Inc., remarked:
“It was a privilege to serve as TIA’s board chair for the last two years as we worked together to restore membership growth and global industry advancements. As the Chair Emeritus, I will continue to support TIA and its priorities, and I want to wish the incoming board officers a very successful 2023.”
New members of the TIA board of directors for 2023 include Annie Bogue, COO and head of sales and marketing at Fujitsu Network Communications; Harrison Smookler, vice president of strategy and business intelligence at Corning; and Thao Tang, corporate vice president at Motorola Solutions.
David Stehlin, CEO of TIA, concluded:
“TIA is proud to have proven leaders from around the ICT industry serving on our board of directors and their strategic guidance will help us continue to drive forward our efforts to build trust in networks and solutions in our increasingly connected world.
