WiredScore announced that it is updating its WiredScore and SmartScore smart building certifications for 2023. In doing so, the company contends it will continue "to set the global standard for digital connectivity and smart technology in the built environment."
WiredScore said the updates will place landlords, developers, WiredScore Accredited Professionals, and others at the forefront of smart buildings technology in real estate. The company added that the reason for updating its certifications is to maintain its role as the global standard bearer for technology in the built world through certification and education.
As user expectations of buildings continuously evolve and technology advances, the company noted that its certifications must evolve too. For the update process, WiredScore said it used research and insights from its global community of industry experts, landlords, occupiers, Accredited Professionals and other third parties, to inform the improvements to the WiredScore and SmartScore certifications.
Per information at the WiredScore blog, updated scorecards will be released throughout the year. The planned schedule of updates is as follows: WiredScore certification - Office v3.1 (June 2023); SmartScore certification v2 (August 2023); WiredScore certification - Home v3.1 (October 2023).
WiredScore said that buildings that are currently undergoing certification will continue to be assessed, and will finalize on their current scorecard version, while adding that all current scorecard versions will continue to be available for purchase or renewal until Tuesday, October 31, 2023.
