TIA publishes new wireless standard

June 23, 2003 - Document describes over-the-air service provisioning in CDMA and analog systems.

The Telecommunications Industry Association has published a new wireless standard that describes over-the-air service provisioning in CDMA and analog systems.

The standard is: Over-the-Air Service Provisioning (OTASP) of Mobile Stations in Spread Spectrum Systems, TIA-683-C. The document is a revision of TIA/EIA-683-B.

The procedures defined are intended to be extendable and flexible enough to be used with future air interface specifications. The procedures in the document do not require support for continuation of the service provisioning process following a CDMA-to-analog handoff.

TIA-683-C was created by TIA TR-45.5 Subcommittee on Spread Spectrum, Digital Technology.
