Intel has been a 'Contributor' level member of MoCA for a number of years, and has been instrumental in helping the Alliance and the technology gain traction among pay TV operators worldwide.
'Contributor' level members are eligible to participate in all MoCA work groups and have voting rights. 'Promoters' also serve on the Alliance's board of directors and are involved in all aspects of managing and guiding the Alliance.
Jim Crammond, chief technology officer of Gateway Solutions within Intel's Service Provider division, will now represent Intel on MoCA's board of directors. "Intel believes MoCA is an important home networking technology that helps operators and OEMs deliver better consumer experiences," says Crammond. "Our continued participation in the Alliance shows our commitment to its evolution and adoption."
"Intel understands the value of a reliable home networking backbone and the board is looking forward to their insight as we roll out MoCA 2.0," concludes Charles Cerino, MoCA President.
