On May 1 the Ethernet Alliance will host a webinar discussing details of its Power over Ethernet (PoE) Certification Program. “Providing an overview of PoE technologies, the presentation also offers an in-depth look at the program’s goals, certification requirements, and benefits,” the alliance said when announcing the webinar. Titled “Introducing the Ethernet Alliance Power over Ethernet Certification,” the online seminar will take place at 1:00pm EDT/10:00am PDT on Tuesday, May 1.
“With both standardized and proprietary PoE products proliferating in the marketplace, it is critical to prevent interoperability challenges, minimize user frustration, and contain support costs,” the alliance said in its description of the seminar. “Led by Ethernet Alliance Chairman John D’Ambrosia of Huawei, and Thomas Lewis of Texas Instruments, ‘Introducing the Ethernet Alliance Power over Ethernet Certification’ examines the need for easy identification of interoperable products designed to available IEEE 802.3 PoE standards. The webinar also details PoE Certification Program requirements and outlines advantages that certification brings.”
The alliance says that original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), solution providers, network designers and engineers, and any professional interested in PoE will benefit from attending the webinar. There is no cost to attend.
“Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of PoE technologies and the forces driving them in the marketplace, as well as the need for and benefits of the Ethernet Alliance’s PoE Certification Program,” the alliance added.
