Tempo Communications (formerly Greenlee Communications brand) has launched its CableScout 90 (CS90) -- a new TDR [time-domain reflectometer] suitable "for everyday use by every technician," claims the manufacturer.
Per a Tempo press announcement, "Quickly and accurately identifying faults is essential for the busy cable TV technician; the CS90 offers a balanced mix of automation and manual testing that enables technicians to do their jobs right the first time."
“The CS90 delivers the latest TDR technology in a small, lightweight and rugged design,” comments Mark Govier, product manager for Tempo Communications. “With unrivaled usability and coaxial cable testing performance, funding faults couldn’t be faster: just move the cursor to the fault and use the one-button zoom function to pinpoint its location. The technician gets all of this and more at an exceptional price.”
With a large, color, high-resolution backlit display that is visible in bright outdoor conditions, as well as a splash, dust and shock-resistant casing, and a long-lasting, rechargeable lithium battery, the CS90 is packed with features to optimize performance, says Tempo.
"With the CS90, technicians will spend less time operating the TDR and more time repairing faults," claims the manufacturer. "Simply select the cable type to be tested and the CS90 does the rest. Pulse width, VP, gain, and vertical position are automatically selected and adjusted as the cable is scanned."
The CS90 employs optimized pulsing and sampling, coupled with advanced filtering and signal-processing techniques. The technician is guaranteed the cleanest possible waveform for the easiest event identification without dead zones. Tempo's FastFind automatic fault locator software allows the user to quickly jump to the largest fault or end of the cable and document with ease, in real-time.
"The CS90 is the latest member in the long line of TDR’s from Tempo and builds upon the success of some of the most trusted TDR’s in the industry," concludes Tempo's Gozier. To learn more, visit www.TempoCom.com, or call (800) 642-2155.
