Tempo’s FIP100 tests in accordance with IEC 61300-3-35, or user-defined criteria, with a single button press.
Tempo’s FIP100 is a fully automated fiber inspection probe that “provides fast and reliable analysis of fiber-optic connector endfaces and bulkheads,” the company explains. With a single button press from a technician, the probe focuses, captures an image of the connector endface, and provides a pass/fail result in accordance with IEC 61300-3-35.
“The pass/fail status of the connector is instantly reported via a red/green LED on the probe,” Tempo adds. “Detailed results are shown on the iOS or Android app, which provides PDF report generation and sharing.”
The user can use the smart device’s pinch-to-zoom capability to visually inspect endface images. The graphical user interface has multi-language capability, and each job is saved with a day/time stamp.
The FIP100’s test ferrule endfaces and bulkheads comply with IEC 61300-3-35. The tool’s small form factor enables technicians to inspect difficult-to-reach ports, and a number of adapter tips are available.
“Interchangeable adapter tips support fiber connector inspection for a wide range of patch cords and bulkhead-mounted connectors having either PC/UPC or APC polished endfaces,” Tempo explains.
In addition to the IEC-defined inspection criteria, the probe can be customized with IPC-8497-1 or user-defined criteria.
