Cypress Integration Solutions Releases OSDP Cable Test Tool

Cypress Integration Solutions’ OTT-2100-2 OSDP Cable Test Tool has two different test modes and may also be used as an OTT-2100 COMSET tool.

Cypress Integration Solutions has launched its OTT-2100-2 OSDP Cable Test Tool, which tests cables prior to installing OSDP components.

“This pair of handheld devices will drastically reduce confusion in the field,” said Jon Uren, Cypress President and CEO. “Integrators will now have an easy way to verify the cable they just pulled was installed correctly or check if the cable that they have on-site can support OSDP.”

This test tool is a pair of compact devices that connect to the reader cabling. When utilized together, the pair simulates OSDP communication at varying baud rates to determine packet loss. Three status LEDs show the test results per baud rate, selected with DIP switches. The OTT-2100-2  has two test modes, depending on which type of test is required. The 600-Test would be used for quick tests while the 6000-Test would be utilized for more in-depth tests.

On top of testing OSDP cable, both components of the OTT-2100-2 can also be used on their own as an OTT-2100 COMSET tool. This allows for fast, simple OSDP reader configuration without the need for a computer, tablet, or access controller. One unit of the tool can be used to set the baud rates and addresses of OSDP readers either before or during installation.
