Powering Technologies for Network Devices: An Examination of Use, Familiarity, and Interest
Power over Ethernet has fundamentally changed the way network devices are powered worldwide, making the 8-position 8-contact connector the true global power interface. As PoE has evolved, users have leveraged the technology to deliver power to more, and more varied, devices on their network. This capability comes with changing requirements and challenges. Meanwhile, technologies including Fault Managed Power and Single Pair Power over Ethernet have arrived on the scene in the ICT industry.
