Krytar, Inc. (Sunnyvale, CA), a specialist in the design and production of ultra-broadband microwave components and test equipment, announced the continued expansion of its line of dual directional couplers with the addition of a new model offering 10 dB of coupling over the broadband frequency range of 10 to 50 GHz, in a single, compact and lightweight package.
Offering ultra-broadband coverage in a compact package, Krytar’s dual directional coupler Model 510050010 features a multi-purpose, stripline design that exhibits excellent coupling over the 10 to 50 GHz frequency band. The company says the new coupler is uniquely designed for systems applications where external leveling, precise monitoring, signal mixing or swept transmission and reflection measurements are required.
Krytar says the new coupler provides a simple solution for many applications covering microwave frequency bands from X through Q-Band, including warfare (EW) systems and commercial wireless including 5G, SATCOM, radar, signal monitoring and measurement, antenna beamforming, and EMC testing environments. Its compact size makes the dual directional coupler ideal for use space-restricted applications.
Per the manufacturer: "Krytar’s Model 510050010 offers superior performance ratings including nominal coupling (with respect to output) of 10 dB, ±1.8 dB, and frequency sensitivity of ±1.0 dB. The dual-directional coupler exhibits insertion loss (including coupled power) of less than 3.0 dB, directivity of greater than 10 dB; maximum VSWR (any port) is 1.80. Input power rating is 20 W average and 3 kW peak.
"The directional coupler comes with industry-standard 2.4-mm female connectors. The compact package measures just 2.24 inches (L) x 0.40 inches (W) x 0.62 inches (H), and weighs just 2.0 ounces. Operating temperature is -54° to 85° C. The dual directional coupler can also be manufactured to meet military specifications."
Krytar also offers complete engineering services for custom designs that meet or exceed critical performance and/or packaging specifications. A data sheet with specifications and a package outline drawing is available at Krytar’s website, www.Krytar.com.
