Moxa Introduces New Product for Faster Data Transmission Speeds

Sept. 7, 2023
For the AWK-4252A Moxa puts security and durability first.

Moxa recently released the AWK-4252A Series 3-in-1 industrial wireless Access Point/Bridge/Client which was made for quicker data transmission speeds by using IEEE 802. 11ac technology. By using this product aggregated data rates go up to 1.267 Gbps or approximately three times faster than the 450 Mbps of 802.11n. The AWK-4252A can operate jointly on both the 2.4 and 5 GHz dual-band Turbo Roaming. It has an average handover time under 150 ms and is backward-compatible with existing 802. 11 a/b/g/n deployments to make wireless investments ready for future technology.

Reliability is imperative to Moxa and it has designed the AWK-4252A to handle some of the most difficult industrial standards and approvals including power input voltage, operating temperature, surge, ESD, and vibration. The AWK-4252A’s IP68-rated weatherproof metal housing can withstand harsh outdoor environments from high heat to freezing cold conditions. Its enhanced antenna port isolation protects against surges and two redundant DC power inputs expand power supply reliability.

The product also has universal models (UN) with configurable country or region codes and can be powered with PoE to simplify deployment. It also has trouble-free network setup with Network Address Translation (NAT).

Moxa also highly values security when it comes to network reliability. The AWK-4252A is certified for IEC 62443-4-2 by the IECEE; this means that it is secure for industrial automation and control systems (IACS) and also verifies that the devices are satisfactory for building a compliant secure environment. This leads to lower development risk, cost, and time. The device also supports the most recent WPA3 encryption to provide further WLAN security.

Moxa prioritizes security and the ability for its latest device to handle a multitude of issues that may arise.
