Baicells Technologies has launched a new fiber product set for ONT (Optical Network Terminal) and OLT (Optical Line Terminal) networking. The product line will feature a mix of transport access functionality at competitive prices. With this offering Baicells can help integrate or extend the domains of their fiber network with their wireless infrastructure, and in turn will give operational flexibility for better business management while also securing new service opportunities with residents or businesses.
Among these new products are compact OLT supporting a variety of many PON (Passive Optical Network) interfaces such as XGS-PON, XG-PON, NG-PON2, GPON, EPON, in the same low-cost chassis, with a high-capacity uplink/trunk to the network up to 100 Gbps. The OLT can be merged with an indoor or outdoor ONT, which is also offered by Baicells, to help deliver high-speed connectivity to the end user, or to connect other network elements such as small cells.
Regarding ONT devices there are the previously mentioned indoor ONT and outdoor ONT as well as an enterprise-focused ONT. These products offer numerous user-side access interfaces to support Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet (GE), 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10 GE), USB, and even Voice (POTS), making them usable for both residential and enterprise areas.
The ONTs also provide flexible backhauling options to the network core, with support for XGS-PON, XG-PON, 10G EPON, GPON, and EPON interfaces, which allows for mixing and matching as needed. Because of this, these new OLT and ONT platforms can be deployed in various brownfield or greenfield environments to help service providers, enterprises, and communities remain connected.
These products have a target release scheduled for Q4 2023. Baicells intends to continue adding to this product line including MoCA solutions in Q1 2024.
