Fractal Antenna Systems, Inc., a provider of wideband DAS antennas, announced the extension of its product line into outdoor DAS (ODAS) applications with the release of its UACM-VISTA antenna.

Fractal notes that its standard UACM antenna has seen thousands of installs for in-building use, providing low profile future-proof solutions for the cellular/DAS, public safety, and wireless coverage, including Wi-Fi. The company says its new UACM-VISTA incorporates all the features that its installer and end-user customers have come to expect: wideband frequency coverage from 150 MHz to 6 GHz; a small size, and an aesthetically pleasing, low-profile housing.

The UACM-VISTA antenna is weather-sealed to allow it to be installed outdoors, as a wireless-enabler in heavily populated facilities and campuses, and in temperate environments with moderate occasional wind load. The unit's wide frequency coverage gives it an all-in-one advantage for cellular/DAS; public safety; Wi-Fi and Internet of Things (IoT) applications.

“The UACM-VISTA has exceptional, wide-band performance packaged within the same discrete design of the standard indoor UACM," notes Fractal's CEO Nathan Cohen.

He adds, “This antenna will allow operators to easily extend outdoor DAS and related coverage to dense and urban environments: hotels, hospitals, colleges, golf courses, stadiums, and others. Its frequency range of 150 MHz to 6 GHz gives designers and installers the option to have one low-profile antenna -- instead of multiple sized and shaped antennas -- to meet all the ODAS System needs.”
